Match day 2 ended in disappointment for Spurs fans as a lack of ruthlessness in front of goal ultimately cost Spurs three points as Marcos Alonso’s brace from a fantastic free kick and a poor error from a shot directly at Lloris ended the game. Spurs ultimately dominated the game in terms of possession, shots, chances and corners but were able to score themselves as a Christian Eriksen free kick was met by the head of Chelsea substitute Michy Batshuayi turning the ball past an onlooking Thibaut Courtois.

The 2016/17 Premier League season has wrapped up and it has been another successful season under Mauricio Pochettino for the North London team.  A league high points total of 86 points saw Tottenham have their best ever premier league season and it only seems to be onwards and upwards for the next season.

2016 saw some of the best performances for Spurs in years, with one of the best finishes they’ve had in years coming at the end of last season finishing in 3rd despite the fact that they could have finished 2nd if they didn’t drop points on the last few match days.

The start of this season has also been extremely positive by starting an unbeaten run which ended in a 2-1 away defeat to Chelsea in November.
